Cinema is the most influencing media in the world. Especially in India every trend and every moment is influenced by cinema. Cinema is a way of entertainment to the most of the people and it is a way of an effective art form to tell something to people which have to reach them hard and strongly. Many people got a celebrity status and following through cinema industry whether by doing work in it or by criticizing it. To work in cinema one need hard work, support, and bit luck. But for criticizing it one camera and youtube channel are enough which made controversial social celebrity over time. Criticism is a way of point out wrong in a thing but not pointing the whole thing as wrong.

Many cinema stars like Jr.NTR had talked about film criticism, reviews and what the wrong and loss they are doing for a movie, Recently Tharun Bhascker who got national wide appreciation for his debut movie “Pelli Choopulu” and come up with a hilarious Buddy-Comedy movie “Ee Nagariniki Emaindi” is mentioning about film reviews and point out a question “How many of film critics had done at least film appreciation course?”

What is Film appreciation course?

Maybe most of us are not even aware of this course. The course focuses on helping the participants to appreciate cinema by understanding its distinct language, its narrative complexity, and the way films control and stimulate our thoughts and feelings. This course is taught & instructed by Prof. Aysha Iqbal Viswamohan, who is a professor at the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, IIT Madras. She has edited ‘Postliberalization Indian Novels in English: Global Reception & Politics of Award’. London: ANTHEM, 2013.

This course is included with topics like Film Theory, Traditions in World Cinema, Aspects of Cinema etc.., Film and Television Institute of India, Pune have some diploma courses on it. But learn through online will give flexible timings and enough knowledge. To all film lovers who out there learn how to see it and enjoy and feel every movie and feel everybody what you experience. A movie is a combination of 24 crafts, it is an artform of teamwork. Nobody will do a film or write a story until they find a good point in that. Even in a bad film, there will be a good point, why don’t we take that? Every film is just like a love proposal every time a new movie will propose in their style to audience. If we like and accept it will blockbuster, otherwise it will be a flop. If we not like it criticize in a way that they will rectify mistakes. But not in a way that builds grudge on you and discourages them emotionally. Until we have complete knowledge on it we are not eligible to say it wrong.
