Hyderabad is witnessing a lot of international stars performing in India. We, the crowd, went gaga over them and didn't think twice before investing in these tickets to watch them perform live and revelled in pride about how India is now taking a big leap in the field of music. Which is great! We, however, don't see ourselves promoting a lot of local music and that's exactly where we're going wrong. Here's us doing our bit to promote local talent. Through this article, we bring to you the city's top best music bands and where you can find them.
1. What The Funk This band is one of the first bands in Hyderabad to start off as a dedicated funk band. Currently, the band is working on its own compositions, and mainly consists of 4 members :
Edla Emmanuel - Vocals, Keys Richard Maddela - Bass Solomon Raj - Drums Ricky Raymond - Guitars and Makka Amit joins them whenever he is in town.

Audio League This is a 4 piece band consisting of Kshem on the guitars and vocals Ashwin on the guitars Kaushal on base and Josh on drumsThey treat their Music as an extension of themselves inside. The 'Road Less Taken' became their motto and set out to do different things differently. They were also winners of the South Campus Rock Idols 2006-2007, winners of A R Rahman's Ooh La La Regional Bands search competition, besides participating in many competitions like Strawberry Fields - 2013

3. Tribal and Joe Calling Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthew's band etc their influences, they're a band of 4 with Richard Maddela on the Bass, Joel Joseph on drums Benhur on the guitars Edla Emmanuel helping with the vocals.
They came up with this quirky name because three of them sported long hair and one was bald. You can check them out at : HRC and other places. Also, they had their first gig at Monkstar Live and also opened for nation wide renowned band Junkyard Grooves.

4. The TAPES They're a 5 piece band with Krishna on the Bass, Saurabh Tyagi on guitars Chaitu on guitars Srihari on drums Pranav Kumar for vocals.
Formed in 2013, they are a Post Grunge Indie Rock band from Hyderabad. With high energy performances, belting out their all original set, they are soon becoming the Revolutionary sound in the city's almost non existential music scene.

5. Marcus Find A Gun The name is inspired by the cult song 'Lean on', when one of the lead singers misheard the lyrics and thought it read 'Marcus, find a gun' and finally chose that name for their first show in Vizag for the band.
With Rohit Samuel on the guitar Ashok Verghese for vocals and Harmonica, Jonathan Edwards on guitar and vocals, Alex Varghese on the cajon and vocals Edward for vocals and guitar, they perform both covers and Originals.

6. Threeory They are an experimental fusion band with Syntyche Mongro for vocals Mark Talur for keys Senti along on guitar Parasa DattaSai on violin Kiran Eknath helping with Indian vocals Tarun Vishal on drums.
They're are a new sensation in the city now. Their violinist is their 'X factor'.

7. Siblings TV This two piece band consisting of siblings Anukriti Kandhari and Antriksh Kandhari came into existence when the former developed interest in music at the age of 15 and started singing in church and the younger, Antriksh developed interest in music and started playing drums followed by acoustic guitar and vocals. Both have been Church musicians for more than 10 years and love rendering acoustic covers and harmonies. They also did play at Hyderabad's Hard Rock Cafe and elsewhere.

8. The Three Of Us This trio of muscians from the city claim to 'strive to bring a change and purely entertained the masses with their style of music'. Their genres include Pop, Bollywood and Indie fusion. The three of them include Karen Renita Mario helping with the vocals, Obeid Kariwow on the Cajon and Vocals Nitin Dominic D'Souza on the guitar and vocals.

9. Capricio This is now a house hold name for every club hopper. They have garnered fans from all over the city and have an ever increasing fans base. Vocals- Eknath Kiran vocals - Ganesh krovvidi Percussion - Sai Teja Keys - Shravan pakalapati.
