Hyderabad on Tuesday welcomed a unique air-conditioned bus shelter, about 826 of which are to come up across the city soon. The bus shelter is a part of a project being taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). It comes with a wide range of services - from mobile charging units, drinking water facilities, Wi-Fi, ATM and toilets.
The modern AC Bus Shelter inaugurated by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao at Shilparamam. It even has an exclusive “baby feeding room” for mothers of infants who may have to feed their kids on the go. "This facility is open for all the moms who pass by the area," said KTR through Twitter.
The Minister also inaugurated the first Loo & Café, a luxury washroom concept on a PPP model with Ixora FM - a Hyderabad based firm. A 100 more are to come up in Hyderabad in one year's time. Set up in just 170sft space, it consists of three washrooms, a café and a space allocated for ATM. The facility also has diaper station, coffee vending machines. Interestingly, you need not pay for these washrooms.
The middle class and working professionals in Hyderabad will now be able to avail clean, usable and better hygienic washrooms.
