While Super star Rajini creating records everywhere with his new movie Kabali, This Rajani from Andhra Pradesh has already created a history by earning a berth in the Indian Hockey team for the upcoming Rio Olympics Games in Brazil as a second goal keeper.
Rajani Etimarpu was born on June 09, 1990. She hails from Yerravaripalem in Chittoor district. She is not only the lone player from A.P. to seal her place, but also the one and only player from South India. Mean while Indian Women’s team has managed to qualify for the Olympics after 36 years. The last time Indian Women’s team qualified was for the Moscow Olympics in 1980 where they finished fourth.
She took her training in Tirupati under coach Ismail, and is presently undergoing training at the Sports Authority of India’s center in Hyderabad. She is employed by the Indian Railways as a ticket collector in Mumbai.
