India Film Project is Asia's Largest Filmmaking Event, wherein people of all ages from across 20 countries participate to make a film in 50 Hours. The Filmmaking Challenge has been running since 6 Years with 40,000 Filmmakers participating in the event showcasing nearly 4000 Films. The IFP juries are amongst best and top-notch filmmakers of the country.
Competitors form teams and are given a common theme to which they then write a script and shoot the films. They have a free choice of locations, equipment and actors. The teams are also responsible for post-production including editing and audio. This year, for the content creation festival, budding filmmakers from the land of Telugu have made us proud as their film 'Ranga Deva' has bagged Silver in the Professional Filmmaking category. The movie received accolades from all over for its brilliant story line that moved everyone at the fest.
Set in the backdrop of Telangana, Ranga Deva has been directed by Harikanth Gunamagari. Co-Written by Prashanti Chakravarthy, the film stars Rajanikanth, Arun Ghosh, Bunny Abiran and Deepak. The 6:45-min short video was written, shot and edited in 50 hours. It showcases both innocence and power at the same time. The climax of the film with its deep emotional quotient is surely set to move you. The 'natural' filmmaking along with soothing music gives a fresh feeling. Films like these give us a hope that the future of Telugu cinema, provided these guys make it to the mainstream filmmaking, is in safe hands! Watch the brilliant movie:
