If You Don't Know About Our Own Telugu Talent Sobhita Dhulipala, You're Missing Out On A Lot
So it's been a while since you've watched Goodachari, right? The movie is great, the storyline, songs, BGM, writing, everything about the film feels great. But one special person we should all be talking about is the leading lady of the film Sobhita Dhulipala aka Sameera Rao (Sshh! No spoilers here).
There are two types of people reading this article right now, 1. The ones who already know a little about Sobhita, who she is, and where she is from. And 2. The ones who don't have any idea about her.
Well, to begin with, Sobhita Dhulipala is our very own Telugu girl born in Tenali, brought up in Vizag. She moved to Bombay for her higher studies and realized that she's interested in Modelling. She tried her hand at it and got succeeded. She's one of the top models who've worked for Kingfisher calendar.
But what's surprising for those who don't know, is that, she already did 3 films in Bollywood before doing Goodachari. In fact, there are a lot of crazy things about this lady, who is a powerhouse of talent. -> For her first film, Raman Raghav 2.0 audition (with Anurag Kashyap and Vicky Kaushal), she had to do an intimate scene with Vicky, a complete stranger she just met. She nailed it so well that, Kashyap offered her the role within 45 minutes.
-> After watching her perform in Raman Raghav 2.0, the team (Phantom Films) was so spellbound that, they made her sign a '3 film deal'. Raman Raghav 2.0, Kaalakaandi, and Chef.
-> In fact, she was nominated for Critics Choice Best Performance at Cannes Film Festival, one of the biggest film festivals around the world.
-> She said that her character in Raman Raghav 2.0 is so intense and dark that it became difficult for her to get back to her normal life.
-> Sobhita is also a trained Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer. She enjoys poetry, and traveling, have a look at her Instagram (@sobhitad), you'll understand
-> She's also the Miss India Earth 2013. And represented Miss Earth 2013 at the Philippines.
When I was casually watching Raman Raghav 2.0 back then when it released. I didn't know that she's Telugu. But if you've watched the film, there's a 1 minute scene of her in the movie talking to her mom in 'Telugu'. It was so happy and surprising to see a Telugu lady rocking in Bollywood especially with directors like Anurag Kashyap, So yeah, ever since I waited as a fanboy to see more of her work, and felt mad happy when got to know that she was cast in Goodachari.
And hey, there's a very interesting story about how Sobhita was cast in Goodachari: In an interview, Adivi Sesh said that initially Ritu Varma (Pelli Choopulu fame) was supposed to do the Sameera role. She had actually signed the film too. But due to some reasons, she stepped back from the project. And Sesh happened to watch some commercial of Sobhita and later when enquired, got to know that she's actually Telugu. And the rest is what happened.
But what we need to acknowledge here is Sesh's thought of searching her and casting her in a Telugu movie. And of course the incredible lady Sobhita herself. In times like now, where more than half the Telugu film industry heroines are North Indians who can't even speak basic Telugu. Sobhita is a gem of talent, we'd love to see more.

Update: Recent ga Prime Video lo release aina 'Made In Heaven' chusi unte, you know what a talent we're talking about, chudakapothe, you have to watch it right away, not just Sobhita, But for the brilliant & sensible topics the show deals with.
