Syria. The country where the fight between government and rebellions is always on, and because of this chaos innocent people are losing their lives. A country where a citizen has to live in fear for his life every second. This is not new in Syria, it has been the same way since 2011.
Then why and how suddenly we Indians started to care about Syrians? Especially the Telugu people on social media. No one knows the exact reason, but it is a good thing at least now someone is talking and raising awareness about the issue. And here are some of the painful, indigestible yet true facts about Syria.
1. Syria is the only country in the world where the Civil War (Syrian Civil War) is still in practice and on going since 2011.
2. This unending war has costed Syria not only huge economic loss, but millions of human loss also.
3. Many Syrian families leave their country and struggle to start a new life. Because they move out leaving behind their hard earned homes.
4. More than 5 million people till now had to leave their homes and family, just to be alive. And sadly most of these people are in an urgent humanitarian assistance.
5. Nearly 1 Million refugees have fled to the neighboring countries like Jordan and Lebanon. More than half of these refugees are kids younger than 12 years.
6. Most refugees do not live in camps, because they are always full. A single camp can accomodate upto 1,00,000 refugees, but the number of refugees is more than 30,00,000.
7. Education Problem: 75% of Syrians who speak their native language do not understand any other language. Which means, they do not understand what the world media is talking about them.
8. 6 Million individuals (Mothers, Fathers, Children) were displaced, and never got back, and are now living in a hope that, they will someday meet their loved ones.
9. There is no 'War Ground' where forces can fight lawfully, every place is a war ground, a school, a hospital, a common man's house.
10. After all of this happening, Sadly, Syrian refugees are not allowed in world's biggest country America, thanks to Donald Trump. On the other hand, Syrian refugees are welcomed with a warm heart into Canada.
A lot can happen over social media, if used properly we can create wonders. Lets all spread the word and create awareness, share this till it reaches to the right peple who are in power.
