The theater and ballet group, Nishumbita, has teamed up with an NGO Spandana, to enact plays that narrate stories of entrepreneurial success of women in crisis. The team’s endeavors are being supported by the US Consulate.
The program includes traditional puppetry and mime acts in Telugu. The Nishumbita group came into existence in the 1995 with the aim to promote the art of dance and theater among the youth in the twin cities. Their main motto is to promote social values using the power of drama as their tool. This group currently consists of 55 members including amateur and professional artistes who actively strive towards quality theater.

Over the years, Nishumbita has been consistently staging Indian as well as Western Plays, Children’s plays and Ballets many of which have been showcased in various National and International Festivals.

On the social front, Nishumbita has been using Theater as a weapon to fight for communal harmony, national integration, girl child mortality, child labor, education, AIDS, nutritional problems & environmental problems.
