9 Things Telugu People Do Better Than Everyone Else!

We Telugu folks are awesome in general! Having said that we are also pretty badass in some specific things. We kinda surpass the rest of the nation in some things. Also we love to brag. So here’ s what we thought are the things that Telugu people do better than the rest of the country.

Let’s go!

1. Getting Married: Weddings are more than just an occasion we take pride in it and set our self-esteem on them. Moreover, ours is the biggest wedding industry in the country; it amounts to a 500 Crore business every year. Enough Said.

2. Topping Competitive Exams: We are ridiculously competitive people! (Also repetitive and stuck up, but let’s stick to the positives.) So if there’s a competitive exam somewhere in the country expect at least a couple of Telugu peeps in the top ten.

3. Making/ Eating Spicy Food: Our palette is used to the spiciest food, and we take it as a personal insult if the food doesn’t ooze spices and taste! The pickles we make are one of our most coveted treasures.

4. Being NRIs: We have migrated to the US so much that “Telugu Boom” is an actually recognized word in pop culture. There are almost 2 million Telugu NRIs around the world. We have kind of marked territory everywhere.

5. Dressing people up: The sarees that the Telugu land produces are famous, and are worn everywhere around the world. Just the types of sarees that come from our looms are numerous. Know more about them here!

6. Singing: We’ve produced Gods when it comes to singers. Tyagaraju, Annamayya, Ghantasala, SPB, Balamuralikrishna… need we say more.

7. ‘Making’ News: Telugu news media was known to have the largest number of regional news outlets in the country at one point. It’s also known pretty notoriously for sensationalizing.

8. Making Movies: Our industry produces the most number of movies in a year compared to every film industry in the country. What do we say, we love our movies!

9. Going to the Movies: When the movies are so loved, then the theatres will be just as loved. The Telugu states boast of the highest number of single-screen theaters in the country.
