Why should anyone visit Wagah Border?
Wagah Border, located in Wagah is a town that lies between India and Pakistan. (29 KM from Lahore of Pakistan, and 27 KM from Amritsar of India). This is the closest crossing point a normal citizen can visit without any special permissions/ processes.

Every day in the evening, soldiers from both the countries come and march towards each other. Meet at a point, greet each other with pride and lower their flags (this happens everyday, the flags that fly high in the morning will be lowered everyday at the time of sunset). This tradition has been on and daily followed by Indian BSF (Border Security Force) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) without any fail since 1959.

9. You might as well find a few Telugu speaking soldiers there. As so many military families have settled over there for years. You can meet them and ask them for help and further assistance.
